The Looming Retirement Security Crisis
On November 19, 2025, the Alliance held a retirement security symposium entitled The Looming Retirement Security Crisis. The event brought labor movement leaders, policy experts, Social Security and pension advocates, academics, attorneys, and economists together to discuss retirement security and social insurance issues. Attendees learned about ways for individuals and the government to take action to ensure retirement security for all.
Speakers included Rep. John Larson (CT), AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler, and representatives from the AFL-CIO and the National Institute on Retirement Security.
