Retiree Group Endorses Abby Finkenauer for U.S. House

Cites Her Commitment to Protecting Earned Social Security and Medicare Benefits 

Waterloo, IA – Members of the Iowa Alliance for Retired Americans will proudly announce their endorsement of Abby Finkenauer for election to the U.S. House of Representatives from Iowa’s 1st Congressional District in Waterloo on Thursday, October 4 at 5:30 p.m.

In making their endorsement, Iowa Alliance members cited Finkenauer’s experience as a state legislator who understands the issues facing seniors and retirees.

“Abby Finkenauer’s positions on retiree issues demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for older Americans,” said Midge Slater, President of the Iowa Alliance for Retired Americans. “Her leadership on preserving and protecting Social Security and Medicare from benefit cuts will help ensure these programs will be around for current and future generations.”

Members also cited Finkenauer’s commitment to providing more affordable health care for older Americans, stronger retirement and pension security, and quality long term care.
