Ken Pease

Ken Pease, 73, suffers from a number of health conditions, not the least of which are diabetes and heart disease. He has had 1/3 of his right lung removed. Last year he suffered an aortic aneurysm, which doctors thankfully discovered as a result of preventive screening covered by Medicare.

Ken needed three separate surgical procedures to repair his aorta. These and other health conditions require that he take 14 different medications daily.

“Seniors pay a disproportionate amount of their income for medical services, and that percentage would be through the roof without Medicare’s guaranteed benefits,” he said. “Medicare saved my life. If I’d only had a voucher to put toward my health care costs, I probably would not have had that preventive screening.”
