Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans Statement Regarding Court’s Temporary Restraining Order for Clean Elections USA to Stop Harassment and Intimidation at Ballot Drop Boxes

Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans President Saundra Cole released the following statement regarding the Arizona District Court issuance of a Temporary Restraining Order in the case Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans v. Clean Elections USA.

“This order is a win for all Arizonans, especially seniors who are the most likely to vote by early ballot. Casting a ballot is not only a constitutional right, but a patriotic act.

“We intend to withdraw our emergency motion in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals today since the Temporary Restraining Order covers the harassment and intimidation tactics we were primarily concerned with.

“Recent Arizona history tells us that there may be more challenges to democracy in our state.  Arizona Alliance members will continue to do whatever we can to ensure all older voters can make their voices heard at the ballot box.”
