Statement of Richard Fiesta, Executive Director of the Alliance for Retired Americans on the Biden Plan for Mobilizing American Talent and Heart to Create a 21st Century Caregiving and Education Workforce

“Today’s Biden caregiving plan fills a critical gap in senior health care. Through innovative thinking It will help hundreds of thousands of older Americans maintain their independence and stay in their homes as they age. 

“As the COVID-19 crisis illustrates, in-home care is often safer for seniors. It is also far less expensive than nursing home care. Older Americans deserve safe, affordable care from qualified health care professionals no matter where they live. 

“The need for affordable care is a problem that touches nearly every family, whether they have young children or elderly parents. The Vice President has developed a pro-seniors plan that older Americans need now.”
