Retiree Group Endorses Trudy Busch Valentine for U.S. Senate
Cites Commitment to Expanding and Protecting Earned Social Security and Medicare Benefits
Clayton, MO – Members of the Alliance for Retired Americans proudly announced their endorsement of Trudy Busch Valentine for election to the U.S. Senate from Missouri today. The Missouri Alliance is a grassroots advocacy organization with more than 82,000 members across the state.
“Trudy Busch Valentine understands the challenges facing older Americans, and retirees in Missouri can be confident that she will fight for our interests in Washington,” said Mike Louis, president of the Missouri Alliance for Retired Americans. “She knows that seniors have earned the Social Security and Medicare benefits they rely on, and she will battle every day to protect them from cuts. We are pleased to endorse her.”
“I am humbled and honored to receive the endorsement of the Alliance for Retired Americans,” said Trudy Busch Valentine. “Standing up for seniors is a cornerstone of my campaign. I am excited to work in partnership with the Alliance to win this race. Together, we can protect Social Security and Medicare from privatization and cuts, lower healthcare and prescription drug costs, and expand opportunities for older Americans to safely age at home.”
“Trudy will make sure we invest in in-home and community-based services for seniors under Medicaid,” Louis continued. “She will increase access to in-home and community services and ensure that all seniors have access to compassionate care at the end of life.”
“We can also count on Trudy to fight to allow Medicare to negotiate lower prices for more of the life-saving prescription drugs older people rely on and expand Medicare coverage to include vision, hearing and dental care,” Louis added. “Voting for the candidate who will put older Missourians first is essential to our health and economic security.”
