Retiree Group Endorses David Cicilline for Re-election to U.S. House

Cites Commitment to Expanding and Protecting Earned Social Security and Medicare Benefits, Lowering Drug Prices

Providence – Members of the Alliance for Retired Americans proudly announced their endorsement of David Cicilline for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives from Rhode Island’s 1st Congressional District today.

The Alliance has more than 26,000 members in Rhode Island.

“Rep. Cicilline has proven that he looks out for older people in Washington. He has earned a perfect pro-retiree score of 100% in the Alliance’s annual Congressional Voting Record,” said Roger Boudreau, an Alliance for Retired Americans regional board member from Rhode Island. “He knows that thousands of seniors in his district rely on the Social Security and Medicare benefits they have earned, and he’s working to protect our retirement security.”

Boudreau also noted that Rep. Cicilline has been a leader in the fight to protect earned pension benefits and lower drug prices. He voted to require Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices for seniors, cap out-of-pocket drug costs at $2,000 a year and cap insulin copays at $35 a month. He also voted to provide hearing benefits under Medicare and $150 billion for Medicaid home care services.
