North Carolina Supreme Court Denies GOP Motion to Stay the North Carolina Alliance for Retired Americans’ Agreement with the State to Make Voting Easier During the Pandemic

Statement of Richard Fiesta, Executive Director of the Alliance for Retired Americans: 

“Today another court rejected the Republican Party’s effort to make it harder for North Carolina voters, especially seniors, to vote during the coronavirus pandemic. No one should be forced to put their health at risk to cast a ballot that will be counted. Extending the deadline for ballots that are postmarked by Election Day to be received is a common sense measure to ensure that no vote is rejected due to circumstances beyond the voter’s control.”
