2022 Retirement Security Symposium

On November 15, 2022 the Alliance held an educational retirement security seminar for union leaders, senior staff, legislative representatives, pension advocates, academics, lawyers and young workers.

AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler discussed the Butch Lewis Act and labor’s role in the passage of the American Rescue Plan by video, senior Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) staff talked about how the American Rescue Plan is working and the status of private sector plans. Rep. John Larson (CT) also spoke about protecting and enhancing earned Social Security benefits.
