Retiree Group Endorses Steven Horsford for U.S. House
Cites Commitment to Protecting Earned Social Security and Medicare Benefits
Las Vegas, NV – Members of the Nevada Alliance for Retired Americans will proudly announce their endorsement of Steven Horsford for election to the U.S. House of Representatives from Nevada’s 4th Congressional District at the AFSCME office in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Oct. 16th at 2:00 p.m.
In making their endorsement, Nevada Alliance members cited Horsford’s work as a former legislator and community leader and his commitment to ensuring that all Americans have access to affordable, quality health care. During his time in the U.S. House from 2013 – 2015, he earned a 95% score in the Alliance’s voting record. His opponent, former Rep. Cresent Hardy, earned a lifetime score of just 5% during his time in the House from 2015-2017.
“Steven Horsford’s positions and record on retiree issues demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for older Americans,” said Tom Bird, President of the Nevada Alliance for Retired Americans. “His dedication to preserving and protecting Social Security and Medicare from benefit cuts will help ensure these programs will be around for current and future generations.”
Members also cited Mr. Horsford’s commitment to protecting people with pre-existing health conditions, stronger retirement and pension security, and quality long term care.
