Brian Kemp has been caught Red-handed Suppressing the Right to Vote
Retiree Organization Calls on him to Resign Immediately as Secretary of State
The following statement was issued by Kenny Bradford, President of the Georgia Alliance for Retired Americans, following Brian Kemp’s comments about exercising one’s right to vote, first publicized in Rolling Stone:
“The Secretary of State’s private comments, which show that Brian Kemp is ‘concerned’ about Georgians exercising their constitutionally guaranteed right to vote, should be deeply disturbing to anyone who cares about a level playing field.
“Voter suppression takes many forms, but it always disproportionately affects seniors, minorities and the disabled.
“The 65,000 members of the Georgia Alliance for Retired Americans call on Secretary Kemp to resign as the Georgia Secretary of State immediately. We simply do not have confidence that he will impartially and fairly administer this election.
“The right to vote is sacred and has been hard earned. Brian Kemp’s words and deeds have shown that he cannot be trusted to fulfill his job as our state’s chief election administrator.”
